This document describes the "footprint" left on your system by Colorific as it is installed and as it runs after installation.
WHAT THE INSTALLER FOR COLORIFIC 2.4 DOES
The full installation of Colorific 2.4 will add the following files to your system:
1. ColorSync Files
The ColorSync™ (version 2.1.2) extension will be copied into your Extensions folder (within the System Folder), if this extension isn't on your system or if the extension you have already is an earlier version.
The ColorSync™ System Profile (version 2.1.2) control panel will be copied into your Control Panels folder (within the System Folder), if this control panel isn't on your system or if the control panel you have already is an earlier version.
A ColorSync™ Profiles folder will be created in your Preferences folder (within the System Folder), if this folder isn't on your system.
Various standard Apple ColorSync profiles will be copied into this ColorSync™ Profiles folder. A particular profile will be copied over, if the profile isn't on your system or if the profile you have already has an earlier file modification date.
2. Print Driver (Chooser Extension) Files
The Laserwriter 8.3 (version 8.3GM) chooser extension will be copied into your Extensions folder (within the System Folder), if a chooser extension with this file name isn't on your system or if the chooser extension with this file name that you have already is an earlier version.
3. Colorific Files
A Colorific folder will be created in the volume that you selected as the target for installation. Any pre-existing Colorific folder and its contents will be completely deleted.
The files Colorific® v2.4, Colorific v2.4 READ ME, and Colorific v2.4 Installer Notes will be copied into the Colorific folder.
An alias of Colorific® v2.4 called Colorific® v2.4 alias will be created and placed on the Desktop.
A Colorific Manual folder will be created in your Colorific folder.
The files Colorific Manual (RTF), Colorific Manual (Text Only), and Colorific Manual (Word 5.1) will be copied into the Colorific Manual folder.
The Colorific® Recalibration Check extension will be copied into your Extensions folder (within the System Folder). If this extension is already on your system, it will be overwritten.
WHAT THE COLORIFIC APPLICATION DOES
As soon as the Colorific calibration program is run and completes successfully, 3 areas are affected.
1. Profiles
3 ColorSync profiles are created in the ColorSync Profiles folder in your Preferences folder (within the System Folder):
<monitor name>
True_Internet_Color.icc
Pantone.icc
(<monitor name> is a filename constructed from what you picked for the type of your monitor at the beginning of the Colorific calibration program.) Any pre-existing files with these names are simply overwritten.
2. ColorSync Status
At the completion of calibration, Colorific will tell ColorSync to use the profile called <monitor name> that it just created as the current ColorSync system profile.
3. Preferences
The Colorific Preferences preferences file will be created or updated (if it already exists) in your Preferences folder (within the System Folder).
